Nowadays most apartments have a key box.
You type in a code and get the key out.
That means you can enter at anytime.
I have a rental apartment and it has a NUKI lock.
Each new guest gets a unique pass code.
It sends me a message to know that they have arrived.
It even has fingerprint entry.
