I am going to stay in Granada for 3 weeks next April.
I would like to rent a small motorcycle or a scooter for my time in Granada.

It is my understanding that motorbikes don't have to obey the traffic restrictions and can go into the Albaycin at any time.

Does anyone know a company that does this?

 

Renting a Small Motorbike in Granada

Driving round Granada is an excellent way of getting around. I have driven a small vespa for the last 15 years.
The only problem is that the helmet messes up my hair.  You can go up any street that a bus or taxi can so it is much more usefull than a car.

 

1. Where to Rent

• Cooltra: The most popular choice with several delivery points (Train Station, Center, and Airport). They offer 50cc and 125cc Peugeots and electric Super Soco bikes.
• OK Mobility: Good for competitive daily rates, though their offices are often outside the immediate city core.
• Local Shops: You'll find small rental shops near Calle Elvira or Plaza Nueva, which are great for last-minute rentals.

2. Requirements & Costs

125cc Licence	Car licence held for at least 3 years, or a specific motorcycle licence (A1/A2).

4. Top Tips for Riding in Granada

• Parking: Do not park on sidewalks/pavements unless there is a specific motorbike bay (marked with white lines and a "Moto" symbol). Police are very active with fines.
• Cobblestones: The streets in the Realejo and Albaicín are made of slick river stones. If it rains, these become extremely slippery.
• The View: Take your bike up to the Silla del Moro or the Mirador de San Miguel Alto for views the buses can't reach.

You can get bigger bikes but you may have to have a motorbike licence. 

There is almost no rain between May and September so it is perfect.
The weather is not too bad the rest of the year and I use my vespa all year.

Many years ago I have driven down to the coast on a 125 between Christmas and New Year.
The weather was fine.

When I lived in the Albayzin motorbikes did not have to abide by the traffic restrictions. 

However, you show ask for advice when you hire the bike.
